“I first applied for assistance when I got sick and wasn’t able to work for a few months. I couldn’t pay rent and was on the verge of homelessness. I didn’t need help consistently, but when I did, AFA helped me get back on my feet.”

World AIDS Day

West Hollywood Events

Thanks to all those who joined us for a candlelight vigil along the West Hollywood Memorial Walk, decorated with flowers to honor those affected by HIV/AIDS. The night's events included an opening ceremony at West Hollywood City Hall, accompanied by "Silence=Death," a photo exhibit documenting Los Angeles activism from 1987-2007. The Walk continued to the Metropolitan Community Church, where AFA was proud to honor Tom Pardoe with the Paul Starke Warrior Award, presented to individuals making major contributions in the HIV/AIDS community. See pictures.
